Welcome to CutsMustard where I am exploring recipes for families, kids, and adults struggling with top 8 food allergies. My family started a long journey of major food restrictions when one of our 4 children developed an allergic condition known as EoE. Their body reacts to any food it is allergic to by sending white blood cells to their oesophagus and causing swelling and inflammation. It is not anaphylaxis, though our kids all have various allergies, some anaphylactic (cantaloupe, go figure!). EoE can cause a narrowing of the throat making eating difficult. We have a team of doctors who developed the best treatment for our child and that included cutting out foods that were causing this allergic reaction. When we knew about the allergies I put all my cooking and baking knowledge into finding things we could all eat safely. I have a passion for cooking and love challenges. My biggest drives are to make sure our kids never miss out and to share our recipes with you to help you find joy in food.
